The Weston Park Museum is a lovely victorian museum that sits inside Sheffield’s Weston Park. It’s a striking building, with beautiful stonework and column’s. It hosts a range of exhibits, but my favourite is the oil paintings in the Picturing Sheffield Gallery. I absolutely love photographing weddings in museums like this, the framed gallery wall of pictures makes such a great backdrop for photographing people.
Anne and David’s wedding had the most amazing dress code I’ve ever seen in my many years of photographing weddings, which was: “Wear What You Want”. So many of their creative and outgoing friends really took the theme to heart and wore some of the most unique outfits I’ve ever seen at a wedding. The theme really gave permission to their guests to go as fancy, relaxed or quirky as their hearts desired. My favourite of course was the friend who wore an inflatable unicorn outfit during the ceremony. It really did take all of my self control to make sure I photographed all of the guests in the room, not just the unicorn sitting in the back row of the ceremony. And if the dress code wasn’t enough, Anne’s handmade wedding dress was the real star of the show.
Anne spent months working in her spare time on this incredible rainbow dress cut from various fabrics that she found. There was so many hidden gems in the pieces of the dress, like googly eyes or little lego characters. But I’m sure you can agree the overall effect was so mesmerising!
Anne and David, thank you again for having me be apart of your incredible wedding day! It was so much fun to be apart of and I loved photographing it!

If you’re considering Weston Park Museum for your wedding, please do get in touch. I adore this venue and would love to shoot in it again!
