best wedding photography of 2017

Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a work-a-holic.

I work a lot.  When I’m not working, I’m thinking I should be working.   It’s a very weird addiction to overcome.  The fact that I’ve been able to do something I love so much and I’m so passionate about doesn’t help.  I love the work, and I enjoy the work, but it makes for terrible work life balance.  In years past, weeks and months without days off for the norm.

So this year, I’ve made it my goal to work smarter, work more efficiently.  I’ve sat down and examined my workflow and kept coming back to ways that I can spend less time on admin and more time focusing on being a photographer.  I want to give my time to my couples in ways that really matter to them.  And makes their experience of their wedding day and their wedding photography better.

I’ve also made the goal of spending more time with amazing husband, who I couldn’t be more thankful for, and without, I wouldn’t be able to do this incredible job for a living.  He supported me when I was starting out on this adventure, and continues to support me every time I think the stress might be too much.

This year I also met my goal of shooting more weddings areas in and around London to help with my work life balance.   Rather than traveling further away, I’ve focused on shooting more weddings in the London area, and it’s been perfect.  There are so many fantastic venues in the Southeast that I’ve been spoiled for choice, and I’ve been able to spend more nights at home curled up next to husband and fluffy cat.

I really can’t do this job all though without my amazing clients.  These incredible people put their trust in me to document what is one of the most important days of their life.  It’s important, not only because they are committing themselves to each other, but also they are putting together this celebration of life, and everything that is good in the world, and bringing together all of the people that mean something to the.  That gathering is a once in a lifetime event, and it is my unbelievable honour to be asked to photograph it for them.

I’m so proud of the work that I’ve been able to create for my clients this year.  Not only have I kept striving for this work life balance that always feels unobtainable, but I’ve created images that I so proud to be able to say are “my job”.

Each image for me was such an awesome moment to witness.   Thank you again for having me be apart of your lives and being able to create images that will be apart of your families history.  I really can’t wait to see what moments my 2018 clients have store for me.
