It’s always incredibly flattering to shoot a wedding for another fellow photographer, especially one that has also photographed weddings. There’s a huge level of trust involved, and you want to know that your vision lines up with the photographers. So it was lovely to be in contact with Lauren early on in her planning, even before she had a date and a venue to talk about her wedding.
Lauren and Ian started their day at The Claredon Hotel in Blackheath. This was my “one photographer package” but since Lauren and Ian were both getting ready in the same hotel, it was easy for me to pop between the rooms and photograph both of them getting ready. From there, we went quickly went over to the wedding ceremony at at Our Lady, Help of Christians Catholic Church Blackheath.
After the ceremony we headed over to The Tudor Barn Eltham. This is the third time that I’ve had the pleasure of shooting a wedding at the Tudor Barn in Eltham. It’s a unique venue for London. It feels like it’s more nestled in the countryside then in the heart of South London. It’s a smaller, more intimate building, but it has loads of outdoor space for relaxing outside when the weather is nice. It’s a rare venue to have “country vibes” but city transport links.
One huge perk of the Tudor Barn is access to “The Well Hall Pleasaunce” gardens next door. We went into the gardens several times over the afternoon, but the best bit was right before sunset, when the evening light came pouring through. It felt more like Italy in that moment than South London.
Lauren and Ian- Thank you again for having me be apart of your incredible wedding day! It was so lovely!
