It can’t be easy planning a wedding reception in your parents garden. Not only do you have to have a marquee or a tipi brought in, but all the catering, tables, chairs, plates, the food…

However Kate and Rupert were incredibly lucky. Not only did Kate’s parents have the most incredible garden nestled in the cutest town in Wiltshire, but Kate’s brother is a wedding caterer and Kate herself is an event planner.  She planned every detail to perfection. It’s like all the stars aligned to give Rupert and Kate the perfect back garden village wedding.

Kate got ready at her parents home and then walked through the village to the village church.  The church was completely filled to the brim with Kate and Rupert’s family and friends. After the ceremony, everyone walked back through the village to Kate parents garden to properly start the celebration.

I love back garden weddings. They are always so relaxed and everyone is in such high spirits. Being able to celebrate in such a personal space with all your family and friends around you is such a privilege.

Kate and Rupert’s tipi marquee was set up in the most perfect spot behind her parents garden with the cutest little rustic bar set up at the end (and even a few sheep in the next field looking on.)

The wedding breakfast was served in the tipi on long trestle tables decorated with greenery and candles. I always think that having long tables makes such a difference to the atmosphere at weddings. It encourages people to mingle and chat and get to know people that they wouldn’t usually.

The evening party was a lot of fun and a bit of chaos and luckily it seemed that the neighbours didn’t mind the noise!

Kate and Rupert- Thank you so much for having me and my second shooter be apart of this incredible day. It was so much fun to photograph.
